A DAY IN THE CITY: NEW YORK, NY
There could be hundreds of thousands of one day itineraries for a day in New York City. This bite-sized approach lists a few of my most current favorites. I’m not afraid to mix in some touristy things, just those I find worth the time.
START YOUR DAY…
WHITNEY MUSEUM OF AMERICAN ART
It is worth stopping in the Whitney to take in the iconic work on exhibit, as well as the spectacular view. The Whitney Cafe and Studio Bar are great places to stop for a quick, delicious bite.
HIGH LINE HOTEL
Cruise up the street to Intelligentsia at The High Line Hotel for a quick coffee/matcha stop.
CHELSEA MARKET
Take a stroll through Chelsea Market for countless delicious breakfast options and take a gander at the shops throughout the market.
THE HIGH LINE
Although it can at times be overrun by tourists, The High Line is worth a quick walk through this elevated public park for a breath of (hopefully) fresh air.
MIDDAY…
CAFE GITANE
This little restaurant serves up all the french street cafe vibes. A great place to stop in for brunch or lunch and do some people watching.
THE BUTCHER’S DAUGHTER
The Nolita outpost of one of my favorite plant based haunts in Los Angeles. The Butcher’s Daughter is another great spot for lunch of brunch.
LOWER EAST SIDE, THE BOWERY & NOLITA
These streets are lined with some excellent, super niche and well curated shops. You could spend all day down here perusing. A few stand outs that my dear friend Sarah recently brought me to are Assembly New York, The Frankie Shop, Extra Butter, Sézane, & Still Here.
HIDEOUT CHAI BAR
You have to look closely to find this tiny little tea shop or you’ll miss it. Stop in for excellent chai and hojicha and golden milk.
AFTERNOON…
MATCHA BREAK
Stop by one of the coffee stands in the Park or make your way to the Upper East Side for for an all-American caffeine experience, at Ralph Lauren’s concept - Ralph’s Coffee.
CENTRAL PARK
Bring a little more authenticity to your day with a subway ride up to Central Park or shamelessly take the scenic ride on one of the rentable bikes available all over the city. No matter the season, a stroll through Central Park is a must.
COMPLETE THE DAY…
THE PLAZA
Finish off the day at this classic New York establishment and the home of my childhood favorite, Eloise. Both The Palm Court and The Champagne Bar offer lite fare and cocktails ‘til quite late.
CASA LEVER
Stepping into Casa Lever feels a bit like entering a super sexy and elegant Jetson’s era space station. It is well juxtaposed with outstanding, refined Milanese cuisine that beautifully celebrates the highest caliber of ingredients, as the best of Italian food does.
FRANK
At Frank, delightfully cramped, kitchen-side seating and delicious homemade Italian meets all your city dining dreams.
