Lavender Matcha Latte

I tend to get lazy with the way I make matcha, so I figured it was time to make a proper, hot matcha latte—nice and cozy for those cold winter months—flavored with lavender to keep it interesting.

YOU WILL NEED

  • 1 cup unsweetened non-dairy milk, warmed or steamed

  • 1 teaspoon culinary-grade dried lavender

  • 1 teaspoon honey, optional

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons matcha

  • 1/4 cup hot water

TO MAKE

Add the milk to a small pitcher or bowl. Stir in the lavender and honey. Set aside.

In a separate small bowl, sift in the matcha, breaking up any clumps. Pour in the hot water and briskly whisk using a matcha whisk or electric whisk.

Pour the matcha into a serving cup. Pour the lavender milk through a fine mesh strainer into the serving cup.

Serve right away.
