FINDING BALANCE: Yoga Hustle

It’s pretty clear that nutrition is a big focus for me. Food is a tool that helps me manage autoimmune flare-ups, but there are a couple other elements that I’m always trying to keep in check, namely, sleep and stress. If I’m honest, finding balance is really challenging.

There are all sorts of different things I try to do to manage my sleep and stress levels, most notably my faith, spending time in prayer, meditation, reading and journaling, not to mention my beloved daily epsom salt bath. Along with those, I’ve found it super beneficial to spend time training and getting exercise. One of the things I’ve been trying to do more is incorporate yoga into my weekly routine. I’m particularly fond of the mobility and mental clarity that a Vinyasa practice brings.

Lately, for working out at home and in-studio Vinyasa, I’ve been loving the super grippy, extra big mat from Yoga Hustle. The designer in me has a hard time not keeping things coordinated, so I went with their simple ocean mat and blocks that have this subtle animal print that just so happens to work well with the colors in my living room, because why not?

I like to switch things up with weight training a few days a week, Vinyasa for one or two, and I’m super into throwing some tennis with my ladies into the mix. Whatever the method or practice may be, spending a chunk of time each day massively improves my energy, stress levels and sleep quality. And with yoga particularly, choosing to take the time to mentally rest, pray and process is tremendously helpful.
