My mom makes the real thing every year, tediously whipping the eggs and whipping cream, and it’s delicious. If you’ve ever been with us for the holidays, you know it is iconic. BUT when you’re craving the cozy flavor in a pinch, this approach is crazy simple, dairy-free and egg-free for those who need to avoid it, and delicious.
YOU WILL NEED
2 cups unsweetened almond milk, warmed
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt
Ground nutmeg, for serving
TO MAKE
Whisk together the almond milk, maple syrup, nutmeg, and fine sea salt. Place in the refrigerator to chill.
Serve cold or at room temperature with extra ground nutmeg on top.
